Our Plant in Atwood, Indiana (cellulosic fuels)
Our first plant was built in Atwood, Indiana during 2006. The plant initially was designed to produce solid bio-fuels from wood scraps and our own patent-pending, drought-resistant, harvested plants.
After amassing a great deal of knowledge about bio-material handling, fuel-crop management, and solid fuel making, we decided to reinvent the plant. It now serves as both an R&D facility for
cellulosic material processing (feedstock process testing…occasional short, one-to-three day tests that are permitted by the Indiana Dept of Environmental Management), and as a cellulosic bio-fuel production facility.
In a production mode, the plant can produce between 13,000,000 and 15,000,000 gallons per year of sulfur-free, biodegradable bio-oil, sulfur-free bio-gas (around 500 BTU per cu ft) that we use in our processes, and some excess bio-gas which can be used to produce 1.6 to 2 MW of green electricity.
Our bio-oil from this facility is plant-based, water soluble, and bio-degradable.
